Serve

Here at JUMC, we have many ministries that provide us the opportunity to serve.  We have ministries that support our church as well as our community.  "We are His hands."

What better way to show and share God's love than to be a part of a ministry that you

are passionate about.

We are still in the process of adding them all here.  Come back soon to learn more.

  • A Moment in Time

Caring for someone with dementia is not usually considered fun.  Isolation, depression, boredom, stress, frustration can describe not only the caregiver but the person with the diagnosis.  A Moment in Time, formerly known as The Memory Café, is a social gathering of people with any form or stage of dementia as well as their Care Partner.  It is a stigma free environment to gather, share and enjoy activities and refreshments with people who are going through the same thing.

Come, fellowship, get out and have a little fun!

We meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month between 1:30pm - 3:30pm.

  • Agape Cafe

Agape Cafe, which started in September 2012, originated from the vision of a small group of church members who saw a need in the community and decided to take action!  Click the image for more information.

  • The Blessing Box

In December of 2021, the JUMC Mission Committee and Ragsdale Student, Sy Lester, created The Blessing Box.  This box was created to be a functional dwelling for non-perishable food items for our community; for anyone to take. Sy, was working on his Eagle Scout designation. With the assistance of his father and a friend, he built and erected a gift that will last forever!

Initiated as a community effort, members of JUMC will check the box several times throughout the week and replenish as needed. "This Blessing Box is a new undertaking for us and we know it will evolve as time goes on.  It is the hope of the committee, for the entire Jamestown community to become involved with providing food for this Blessing Box." Initiated as a community effort, members of JUMC will check the box several times throughout the week and replenish as needed.

If you are interested in being a part of this mission, click the image to the left.  Items for you to consider placing in the Blessing Box are any canned vegetable, fruit, soup, meat, air tight boxes/bags of pasta, rice, beans.

At this time the purpose of the Mission Committee at JUMC is to feed the hungry, and our church certainly has proved it is a church of love, caring and giving.  We continue to thank you for supporting the food drives, backpack ministry, Agape Cafe, hygiene kits, and soon to be announced other opportunities to assist those less fortunate than many of us.
