Outreach Thrift Center
About Us
The Outreach Thrift Center was formed many years ago by some caring ladies who wanted to help children. It has grown into a body that still gives to our schools, in addition to so many other organizations.
The JUMC Outreach Center operates through the volunteer efforts of dozens of women and men and
is a vital support of our community. Generous donations from our church members and others in the community allow the Center to continue to serve those who are most in need. One of its missions is
to offer quality goods (i.e. clothing, shoes, household goods, etc.) to be purchased at a minimal
price to those in our community who visit. The center is governed by a Board, the director, Sue Moore
and the treasurer, Don McDaniel. All proceeds are returned throughout the
community through donations.
The general hours of operation are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
10:00am - 12:30pm.
The OTC Board worked diligently during the closure to establish guidelines for reopening.
The protocols recommend everyone wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, and we’re limiting the number of
customers in the building to 12 at a time.
Types of donations no longer accepted include:
adult books (however, we welcome children's books); pictures; lamps; no electronics.
We will continue to accept gently used clothing and assorted household items.
Donations will be received ONLY during open hours Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the door to the right of the building.
Signage will be in place to assist you with finding where to drop your items.
We thank all the volunteers who work tirelessly maintaining the OTC, preparing the donated items for sale, and welcoming the public into our Thrift Store. We look forward to showing God's love to our community.
