Children's Ministry

Welcome to the Jamestown Children’s Ministry. We are excited about God and thrilled to teach children about God. As your child spends time in our program they will learn the stories of God found in Scripture, fellowship with other children, worship in community, and serve others through mission and outreach events. And they’ll have lots of fun!

Core Values

To equip parents for spiritual leadership.

To know every child by name.

To guide children to Christ and to nurture their relationship with Christ.

Every child will know they are loved by God.

Trained volunteers who love God and children’s ministry.

Safe Sanctuary

We are always interested in having more volunteers!  If you would be interested in working within our Children's Ministry, we'd love to have you!  Safe Sanctuary Training is required for all volunteers that work with our children and youth.  This training ensures the safety, not only for our children, but our volunteers alike.  For more information see our Safe Sanctuaries page HERE or contact Pastor Wendy Barnes.

that all of our kids will continue to sing and help lead worship through song.  We plan to sing in worship on several occasions throughout the year.  As we begin to

plan ahead, we’d love to know if your child plans to join Ms. Teresa this year in children’s choir.  If your child is interested, please contact Ms. Teresa Allred at  It's the best!! It’s going to be an amazing year!

Fellowship Dinners are returning, on a new night!  Starting September 11th, the Fellowship Dinners are moving from Wednesday to Sunday at 5pm.  The dinners began many years ago as a way to gather together and share a table with each other, combining Methodist traditions of food and fellowship.  Over the last two years, the dinners took on a different look due to our church’s precautions around COVID-19, and they started to lose the original purpose of families eating with other families in fellowship.

  • R.O.C.K.@5

Every Sunday evening the JUMC children, ages 4 yrs. - 5th grade, meet for a time of fun, food, fellowship, singing, and learning. The evening begins with children’s choir, directed by Teresa Allred, where the children praise God as they learn worship songs along with hand motions. Following choir, the children gather in the Fellowship Hall to eat dinner together and fellowship.

It's been a long summer and we are ready to see your children! ROCK@5 kicks off on Sunday, September 11th at 5:00pm.  Eat dinner together as a family from
5:00pm - 5:30pm at our church fellowship meal, then join us for a parent orientation afterwards.  Be sure to check your kids in near the entrance to the Fellowship Hall.

We look forward to seeing you and your family on the 11th!
