Children's Ministry

Welcome to the Jamestown Children’s Ministry. We are excited about God and thrilled to teach children about God. As your child spends time in our program they will learn the stories of God found in Scripture, fellowship with other children, worship in community, and serve others through mission and outreach events. And they’ll have lots of fun!

Core Values

  • To equip parents for spiritual leadership.
  • To know every child by name.
  • To guide children to Christ and to nurture their relationship with Christ.
  • Every child will know they are loved by God.

(Sundays) R.O.C.K.@5

Every Sunday evening the JUMC children, ages 4 yrs. - 5th grade, meet for a time of fun, food, fellowship, singing, and learning. The evening begins with children’s choir, directed by Teresa Allred, where the children praise God as they learn worship songs along with hand motions. Following choir, the children gather in the Fellowship Hall to eat dinner together and fellowship.

Once their bellies are full, the Kindergarten - 5th grade students will have their Bible lesson where they will learn about the books of the Bible and the stories they tell us about God. After digging into Scripture there is free time for the children to enjoy playing games and hanging out with one another.   We invite students to join in this fun-filled time beginning September 12th. Have questions or would like more information? Contact Pastor Wendy Barnes here.

Kid's Activities

  • 2021 Vacation Bible School

Treasured VBS was hosted from August 1st to August 5th.

At Treasured, kids discovered God’s greatest treasure isn’t diamonds, gems, or gold – it’s them!  Kids participated in memorable Bible-learning activities, sang catchy songs, played teamwork-building games, devoured yummy treats, experienced one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, collected Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and tested out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they took home.  Plus, kids will learned to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.  Each day concluded with the Closing Quest that got everyone involved in living what they’d learned.  Family members and friends were invited to join an end of event "Week in review."

  • Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner Kid's Table

The first Wednesday of each month the Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinner will have a kid’s table set aside just for the children.  Sorry parents, you’ll have to find your own table!  Children will have the opportunity to fellowship together and get to know one another as they eat yummy food.

    Beginning October 6th
