Church-Wide Cleanup

Saturday, June 4th | 9:00am—Noon

One thing that comes along with the everyday bustle of life in a church is that storage rooms and basements fill up quickly.  We have hit our storage space maximum capacity.  It’s time to cleanup and cleanout!  Our goal is to donate what we can, throw out what is no longer usable and organize what we keep so that as our ministries grow, we have the space to house the needed equipment and supplies.

The cleanup will be a two-step process:

1. Any ministry who has items stored in either of the two basements, the various storage rooms, or any of the closets must notify Tammy.  At that time a date will be set to walk through the storage space and physically tag any items that the ministry needs kept.  The items will be tagged with the ministry’s name so that in the future, items can be easily identified.  By doing this prior to the cleanout day, the cleanout team will be able to quickly dispose of items that are not claimed.

2. A construction dumpster will be on-site Saturday June 4 from 9am-12pm.  On that day, the cleanout team will dispose of any unclaimed items.  (We’ll donate anything that is still in good shape!)  Once all unclaimed items are removed, we’ll organize the space.

Adult volunteers are needed for the cleanout team.  The team will move items to the dumpster or a donation truck and then organize the remaining items in order to best utilize our available space.  Several of the items are larger/heavier so a few strong backs will be vital to accomplishing our tasks.  (Due to the potential hazards associated with moving large items, we ask that only those 16 and older participate.)

Can you space 3 hours?  Please call or email Tammy to let her know you can help.

Wedding Shower, Sunday, June 5th

Wedding Shower for Erin & Garrett | 2:00pm—4:00pm

The JUMC Circles and the Staff Parrish Relations Committee invite you to a wedding shower in honor of Erin Betlej and Garrett Stockdale.  They ask that you bring your favorite handwritten recipe to share.  There is currently a box in the front office to collect those now.

You can find more information about them and their registry at www.theknot.com/erinandgarret10-8.  They have actually listed “contributions to the cash funds” in their registry for upcoming home projects including adding a security system.

We hope you can stop by on June 5th to show your love and support.
