Women's & Men's Groups

Women’s Ministry

The women’s ministry provides a place for women of all ages and stages of life to grow in relationship with God, find opportunities to serve and enjoy friendships with other women.

United Methodist Circles

United Methodist Circles are for women interested in creative, supportive fellowship and contribution to the greater needs in our community and world. Circles meet at various times, both day and night. All groups offer faith, hope and love in action.

Circle of Faith

Meeting time: 11:00am the second Tuesday of each month (September – May) in the Rooks Room

Circle of Faith is a group of Christian women that enjoy gathering. Meetings include prayer and devotion; sharing any God Spots; Circle business; discussion of our special friends; and prayer requests. We have two fund raising projects that allow us to give hundreds of dollars to international and local missions, our church, and our community.

In the summer so that we can maintain our connection, we gather each month for fun. We are active and involved in JUMC and invite any woman desiring monthly Christian Fellowship to join us for one of our meetings.

Circle of Friends

Meeting time:  We meet the first Tuesday of each month except for July and August.

We alternate between meeting at 1:00pm immediately following Young at Heart and 7:00pm in the church when we have a hands-on project to complete.

Our Circle is composed of women in their 50s to 70s. We begin our meetings with praises and prayers then continue with circle business. Our missions for our church and community include Meals on Wheels, Cooking4Hope, and our church youth (Rock@5 and Boy Scouts). We make gift bags for our Special Friends (confined to home or nursing home) during November and December. In February, June, and December we have a dinner social in a member’s home. We welcome new members anytime!

Circle of Peace

Meeting times: 7:00pm the third Tuesday of each month, sometimes at members’ homes or at JUMC

Our Circle is a small but mighty group of women who focus on Missions including: Cooking4Hope, Backpack Program at Jamestown Elementary School, the Blessing Box, and more. In addition to JUMC sponsored charities we support the Boy Scouts and High School students needing assistance. We welcome new members of any age anytime!

Circle of Hope

Meeting time: 6:30pm the last Thursday of the month in the Rooks Classroom (often with light meal and/or dessert)

The Circle of Hope is a relatively small group of women who support each other and the church. We consist of diverse personalities who offer many ideas for our programs and projects. We have an ongoing fundraiser called the Hope Chest. The 2 projects we are focusing on this year are the Angel Tree at Christmas and partnering with Haynes-Inman Education Center (Guilford County school for students with special needs) in supporting their teachers for their incredible work with students.
