Our Mission

Love God. Serve Others. Grow Together.

Our Vision

Sharing the heart of Christ from the heart of Jamestown.

Our Values

Christ Centered
We strive to stay focused on Christ alone by being committed to teachings, following His example, and sharing His love and grace with all persons, regardless of differences.

Biblically Rooted and Relevant
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and offers guidance and direction about who God is and who we are as human beings.  Our ministry together is grounded in scripture – both individually and collectively.

Wesleyan
Our Methodist history is rooted in the teachings and practices of John Wesley; the belief in the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit); the centrality of grace; personal and social holiness; and the primacy of Scripture, along with the tradition, reason, and experience for practical and theological discernment.  Wesley’s General Rules guide our behavior: 1) Do no harm; 2) Do good; and 3) Stay in love with God.

Mission Directed
God calls us to serve by offering hope and healing to others near and far.

Discipleship Pathway
We value every stage of life and commit to reaching and discipling every age and stage of life.

Ministry of All Believers
We believe in helping everyone discern their role in ministry and equipping them to serve faithfully.

The United Methodist Church

At the heart of our community lies a set of core beliefs that guide and inspire us. These foundational principles shape not only our spiritual journey but also how we interact with the world around us. Guided by our mission to love God, serve others, and grow together, our vision is to share the heart of Christ from the heart of Jamestown. We welcome all to experience God’s love and grace, to learn and grow with us on the Discipleship Pathway.

God and Jesus

God is the creator, the giver of life, and the one who always loves us and invites us into love with God and others. Jesus is the tangible manifestation of God. God became one of us, one with us, so that we might love God. Jesus taught us to open our eyes to God’s vision. He died so we would know the depth of that love, and understand God’s intention to redeem our mortality from the inside out.

Bible

The Bible is inspired as the book God uses for us to understand broken humanity and hope in God. Our ministry together is grounded in scripture – both individually and corporately.

Mission and Service

God calls us to seek out the least, the last, the lost, and the lonely. We treasure our connections across the globe, organizing to benefit from one another’s company in the journey of faith, and do more of God’s work together in the world than anyone could do alone.

Wesleyan Heritage

As part of the United Methodist Church, our historical foundations are rooted in Wesleyan heritage and traditions. We share belief in the Trinity; the centrality of grace; personal and social holiness; and the primacy of scripture, along with tradition, reason, and experience for practical and theological discernment.

A United Methodist Church

We love being a United Methodist Church, with its long tradition of connection with others in ministry, zeal to be a safe haven for all people, vital worship and learning, and commitment to take the compassion and healing power of Christ into the real world.
