The Next Sunday Service

“Music knows no national boundaries (unlike verbal languages) as it can speak directly to the heart, to the emotions. It is vital for music to be subject to the authority of the word of God and to serve the ministry of that word in our churches. Let it be said in the strongest possible terms that vibrant, lively, varied, engaging music is a huge boon, which significantly strengthens word ministry and enables believers to respond to God in heartfelt, genuine thankfulness, as well as in prayer and intercession.”
– Christopher Hayward

Singing a variety of music and helping to lead worship at both the 9:00 On Main and 11:00 services periodically, the children will develop in their love of worshipping God through song. Psalm 105:2 states, “Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of His wondrous works!” Join us for a wonderful year of singing praises to God and serving Him through worship!
The JUMC Youth Choir is a great opportunity for students in grades six through twelve to continue helping to lead worship through song. Through youth choir participation, students can use their talents to worship God, to lead others in worship, and to reach out to others with the good news of Christ. Participation will help develop church leadership through music and will offer students a wonderful year of singing, service, and fun! Colossians 3:16 states, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Come join us as we thank God for all He has done through songs of worship!!

The original words and music by Pepper Choplin will immerse your in the passion and intensity of the events of Holy Week. As the character of Luke is deeply touched by the story he is recording, the choir and soloist assume his role in the drama. Starting with Palm Sunday, it eloquently moves through the major events up to Good Friday and finally Easter.
