Rev. Dr. David Greene, Senior Pastor

David is a lifelong Methodist who grew up at Lafayette Street UMC in Shelby, NC. Prior to his appointment in Jamestown, in 2020, he served for four years in Salem, Newton, Gibsonville, Winston-Salem, and Kings Mountain, NC. David is a graduate of NC State University (BS, 1985), Emory University (MDiv, 1994), and Southern Methodist University (DMin, 2006). After finishing at NC State, he served as a Sales Engineer for a Swiss textile machinery firm for six years. David has served in a number of different roles in the Western North Carolina Conference. He has served on the Board of Ordained Ministry, the Commission on the Status and Role of Women, and Congregational Development. He participated in the Reynolds Program for Church Leadership and the Reynolds Leadership Academy for Evangelism and Discipleship. David enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Rev. Wendy Barnes, Minister of Faith Formation

As the Minister of Faith Formation, Wendy oversees the children’s ministry, the senior adult ministries, and adult Christian education at JUMC. She brings to the church’s ministry a passion for serving children and a desire to guide adults in their discipleship to Christ. Wendy also cares deeply about the church’s missional work, which she took up firsthand as an international missionary before her work in parish ministry. In her free time, she spends time with her husband (Josh), daughter (Catherine) and German Shepherd (Maya) hiking the mountains of North Carolina.
