Children's Ministry

We want to partner with parents to nurture their children’s faith. By creating a fun and safe environment, we welcome them with love as we practice the words of Jesus: “Let the children come to me.”

Rock@5

Every Sunday evening the JUMC children, ages 4 yrs. to 5th grade, meet for a time of fun, food, fellowship, singing, and learning. Each evening includes dinner, praise to God through music and hand motions, a Bible lesson where they dig into scripture to learn about God and free time.

Children's Choir

For children, ages 4 yrs. to 5th grade, choir includes fun and energetic rehearsals with games, songs, and more. Our Children’s Choir performs two musical productions and also sing in worship several times a year.

Family events

Family events provide time for parents and kids to play games, laugh together, snap some good photos, and maybe even compete (faithfully, of course). It’s also a great way to get to know other families at JUMC. Check out our website for the next family event.

Vacation Bible School

At Vacation Bible School (VBS), kids enjoy a week of music and singing led by our amazing children’s worship team. They also learn adventurous Bible stories, make crafts, and play games that will leave them smiling. By the end of the week, everyone knows more about Jesus and how much God treasures them.

Youth Ministry

Jamestown Youth Ministry (JYM) is a safe, authentic, inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to grow and live out their faith. You matter. You belong. We want you here.

Youth Group

It all starts with youth group. You will eat, laugh, play and hear about Jesus. Youth build relationships with God and each other through relevant small group conversations. We create space for youth to discover their own faith and to share what’s going on in their lives.

Retreats & Mission Opportunities

Nothing is better than getting away with friends (or soon-to-be friends). Regular retreats and mission projects enable us to experience God in a hands-on way and to share Christ’s love with our neighbors.

Confirmation

Confirmation is an important milestone in a person’s spiritual journey as they confirm the promises made at their baptism and become professing members of the church. Along with adult mentors and the pastor, youth explore what it means to live as a United Methodist Christian and grow in relationships with God and each other. They reflect on and learn about theology, United Methodism, the Bible, and service in the church. Confirmands also participate in retreats, service projects, small groups, and worship.
